Climb Gerlachovsky stit with a Certified Mountain Guide

Climbing Gerlachovský Štít with a UIAGM/IFMGA-certified mountain guide is one of those experiences you remember for a lifetime. Standing at 2,655 m, Gerlach is the highest peak in Slovakia and the entire Carpathians, offering dramatic views and true high-mountain terrain.
Depending on your fitness and experience, you can choose from several different ascent routes.

Main Routes to Gerlachovský Štít

Normal Route (Velická Próba)

The most popular and accessible route is Velicka Próba. We start at Sliezsky Dom, continue through Velická Valley, and climb through the Velická Próba until we reach the Gerlach Basin. From the top of the ridge, a scenic traverse takes us directly to the summit.
Descent: via the Batizovský couloir.

Gipsy’s Ferrata (Gerlachovská Próba)

This is a more technical option suitable for experienced hikers. The route leads through Gerlach Saddle and includes exposed rocky sections that make the climb more adventurous. The climb from Rear Gerlach to the official summit of Gerlach is very steep and exposed.
Descent: same as the Normal Route.

Martinovka Ridge Route

A beautiful but airy ridge route ideal for strong and experienced climbers who enjoy exposure and technical terrain. The guide can take only one client on this route.

Winter Ascent (Batizovská Próba)

In winter, the ascent and descent usually goes through Batizovská Valley, offering a high-mountain challenge in snowy conditions.

All routes are guided by UIAGM/IFMGA -certified mountain guides, ensuring your safety throughout the climb.
